1.3. Mothers making easy the language acquisition

When the child is involved in the language acquisition process, there is a very important factor that helps the child in making easier the progress. We are talking about the mothers. Mothers are the first mediated for the child with third parts, and are the ones who spend the more time talking and taking care of the baby. So we can say that mothers are the principal channel for the child to the language.

“Several recent investigators have suggested that the corpus of speech provided by adults to children represents an input well-suited for the learning of linguistics structure and form, an input carefully graded in complexity to the child's capacities and containing many teaching devices.” (Snow, 1972, 1974; Voster, 1974).

As we said in the other tabs, the repetition is a way for a child to communicate, so here taking the speech of the parents, simply the mothers we can say that a mother transmit the structures of the language to the child by interacting with him or her.

“Clearly, language learning is an interactional process between adult and child.” (De Villiers & De Villiers, 1978). If the process of learning is an imitative one, then the child in this case is learning from the mother. This by doing all the things that mothers do when having a child.
